Bonfire Night & fireworks

There'll be food, bar, soft drinks, fire, fireworks as well as a raffle, games and activities with tonnes of prizes. 

Strictly No sparklers allowed on site. We are selling an alternative .

The Bar and food stall will have a card machine but please bring plenty of loose change for the game stalls. Most games will be 30p.

Survival Camp - invites sent via OSM

Survival camp -Competition

2 teams of 4 compete to build the best shelter which they sleep in, cook for themselves over a fire and make a kitchen gadget.

Scouting skills will be evaluated including - best shelter, the whole team needs to be able to sleep under it.

They will need bring their own food and cook as a team, evening meal and breakfast.

The teams will need to build a handy kitchen gadget.

It is a greenfield camp with only a portaloo as facilities.

Robin Hood's Cave Hike

Scouts are meeting in the layby near Whinfell Quarry Gardens but this will be confirmed nearer the time.

 

They will follow a pre-planned route to Robin Hoods Cave. Sleep in the cave overnight and walk to Grindleford cafe, for a big breakfast. 

 

They will travel back to Dore Railway station, via train or you can collect them from Grindleford Cafe - Timings will be confirmed 

 

Scouts will need to carry their own equipment and water. There is no access to fresh water until Grindleford Cafe

District Day @ Hesley Wood

Saturday 23rd September is going to see all members of Sheaf District, from all groups and sections take over Hesley Wood for a day of excitement and adventure. We have booked all the best activities that Hesley has to offer, including Archery, zip lining, cave bus and inflatables, among many more!

Coaches, what coaches?

To make traffic management on site easier, we are going to be putting on coaches for groups that don’t have minibuses and for overflow from the group minibuses. The coaches will be departing from Abbey Lane school in the morning and returning in the evening.
